"We stayed here on a whim after spending the previous two nights at the Best Western Bonners Ferry and being disgusted at their price vs. value disparity. We drove by Kootenai Valley Motel a couple times while in the area and it reminded us of a similar motel in Twisp Wa. Upon inquiry, we found that dogs were welcome and decided to ditch our final reserved night at the Best Western and move to this property. Why? The list is long: PRICE! $2.00 away from being 1/3 of the price of previous hotel. Puppy convenience: open the door and there are acres of nicely mowed lawn for frolicking etc. Kitch: admittedly, we do have a thing for kitchy Americana and this place is a remnant of another era aka the world before wifi and all things media centric...for goodness sake there was a giant fire pit in the middle of the grounds with rustic seating, firewood, and axe for splitting kindling. We built a rocking fire and enjoyed several adult carbonated beverages while dusk turned to dark. Our lab puppy was right there with us on his leash, and everybody had a ball. The rooms are dated but clean. The beds were comfy, the water pressure in the shower was awesome. If you want new and glamorous, this place is not for you. We are simple folks who needed a good rest. We got exactly what we wanted."

"If you're not old enough to remember what motels were like in the 60s, you probably won't like this motel. However, I do remember. I love these simple motels run by families who take pride in their establishments. Don't expect fancy here. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The housekeeper was especially helpful. She went out of her way to ask us if we had everything we needed. The location is right on Main St., but our room was quiet. The grassy area in the center with beautiful trees and picnic tables provided a calm and relaxing environment. It's also the most reasonable rate in town. If I'm in Bonners Ferry again, I'll definitely stay at the Kootenai Valley Motel again."

"I was working road construction and needed an inexpensive motel to stay in and this one was in my price range....I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had a microwave and fridge where I could freeze my water bottles for my lunch box and heat my dinner. It had nice big bath towels and good water pressure. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. A bargain for the money!! The owners were very friendly and I look forward to my next stay."

"If you're looking for a great place to spend a night or two or even a month, this Motel is the best place in Bonners Ferry area, stayed there for couple of nights and I was very impressed with the customer service as well as cleanliness of the rooms. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and the beds are more than comfortable. The staff is courteous and very helpful. Though they are the lowest price in town, do not let that lull you into thinking, 'you get what you pay for.' This place is where you want to stay if you are traveling through Bonners Ferry."
